hi pamela, I enjoyed your post and wanted to answer the part about reading
suggestions of uncollected stories...these days my favorite of those is
"The Inverted Forest" but I have been thinking a lot "The Long Debut of
Lois Tagget" too.  Yes, the stories are found in libraries fairly easily
and their correct citations are listed in several books by warren french
or eberhard alsen...also Jack R. Sublette has published an annotated
bibiliography of salinger...but I also have to say I love "Seymour--An
Introduction."  At first it's not an easy story, but if you think about
writing, it can be the perfect lesson...ok, ok, so I'm a school teacher
