Books into Movies

A good movie that came from a book? Well there was an A&E production of "A Tale of Two Cities" that was quite
enjoyable. I think a movie version of CIR would be a terrible experience to witness and destroy the sanctity of
it. For example, I thought a movie version of "The Great Gatsby" would be worth watching but it ruined the book
for me. They had this horrid woman who ruined Daisy and now whenever I read TGG, all I see is her face. My
point is that I wish I had never witnessed Hollywood's feeble attempt to recreate Fitzgerald's masterpiece. The
only character who was cast pretty well was Mia Farrow as Jordan Baker. If they broke even at all, it was
because of her.
Also check out the first production of "Romeo and Juliet," not the more recent one but the one made years ago
(in the 60's?). I would have to disagree with the person who said the Grisham movies were good- I thought they
were lousy and confusing compared to the books.
