RE: Zooey v/s Joey

I've debated this for a long time and couldn't come up with an answer (I
actually named a dog "zooey" and we called him "zoo-ee").  I do think
"zoey" is pronounced with the hard o sound and so my best guess is zooey
should use the oo sound like choose does...but I don't think there's a
definite pronunciation and if I were talking to any of you about "Franny
and Zooey," I'd go with either pronunciation gladly...will
