I've been so tied up with work, I have not always been able to tend to matters of list housekeeping, and wanted to pass along a small bit of information. Although I continue to keep "bananafish" and a handful of other lists running, I no longer manage ALL the lists here; there's a department now that is responsible for that. I still get involved as needed (if there's a big problem), but that's rare, since the underlying list service is very well-constructed. 8-) However, someone "improved" the configuration recently and accidentally modified one of the rules by which duplicate messages are identified. This resulted in having legitimate messages rejected as if they had already been sent. I fixed this error, and a few moments ago forwarded a message from Scottie, with the title "here's what he meant"; it was one of the bounced messages that had been erroneously flagged as a duplicate. If you've recently sent a message in but have not seen it appear on the list, please re-transmit it, and it should go out cleanly now. Sorry for this lapse in service. It only affected a tiny portion of the traffic, but if your was one such message that was affected, this is your chance to send it along again. Cheers to everyone! --tim o'connor
