just to clear things up...I was not trying to imply that the reason why Shakespeare is still so relevant is because of the mystery that surrounds him, I am just saying that it never hurts...case in point: Mr. J.D. himself. A little bit of mystery never hurt anyone.. It is a combination of all things that anyone could ever think of that keep Bill alive. But it is mostly us, not even him that have a hand in the immortality. Oh! And Franny, yes, she was the one I associated with most also. I believe I have said that in a few other posts. I think she was just about one of the purest of the Salinger characters. She was so ready to be alive and knowledgful and spirtual that I believe (tisk tisk I should say this for fear of another debate and the whole resurgence of the question: was Franny pregnant???) that is what made her pass out. I think she was overcome with her own self. I hope one day I can reach that. I think she was the kind of truth that we all seek. I wish I knew more people like her today. I like to think that I am a lot like her. I like to think that. I think she is about the best role model out there for young girls. She is head-strong and free-willing. I admire her like no other character I have read in literature...and that may be scary, somewhat. I agree with you about reading _Franny and Zooey_ as a 20 year old and it affecting you more. I read her first when I was 19. Well, that is me. ANgie ANderson
