There's a very strong, underlying love of humanity and faith in Things in
General Working Out Without Our Control that permeates the book.  

I can't really describe a "lack" in Salinger.  That would objectify a
personal experience.  If I were approaching the topic objectively, then
I'd have to put Salinger ahead of Adams any day.
