If Garcia Marquez can be excluded from this country, I suppose keeping him off such lists is easy enough but keeping him out of our hearts and minds? His ommission shows how silly the list is...I vote with my eyes and bookshelves and have never reached a point in my life where lists, genre, or period have stopped me from needing to turn a page or close a book and leave it.
