Vartan is, actually, a most charismatic and intelligent (if not 100% 
honest) man... he was the former president of Brown U, where he gained a 
reputation for his sense of humor, excellent public speaking abilities, 
and (albeit unconfirmed) tendency to admit students of parents who 
donated lots of money to the school.
