Intelligence & Creativity

  I was hoping some of you would comment on what the relationship between
intelligence and creativity is.  How is it different across the spectrum
of art medium?  For example, are good painters intelligent?  Was Picasso,
Sargeant, Pollock?  Most writers seem to be of above average intelligence,
though it seems intelligence in no way implies creative writing.  Computer
Programming, something I consider to be a bit artistic, certainly has a
lot to do with the intelligence of the programmer.  And so on.

   Was wondering what other opinions are out there.
