I hope you know that Miles Franklin was a girl and not a boy! For the sheer
fact that she wrote her first novel at age 16 (sadly there is a movie of it
- My Brilliant Career - which is very seldom seen today as it was sold to
foreign interests who have kept it in a dusty vault somewhere ever since -
an utter tragedy. Also the wonderful Judy Davis' first movie) and as a woman
in the early 20th century is enough to make her an admirable figure. I
highly recommend searching out her works, if even for curiosity's sake.

P.S. I've been to that Australian literature site before too, and was
shocked and delighted to find my own name there on the Australian Authors
list!
