I was just quietly browsing through the many posts that had built up
while I have been busy trying to earn a living when this hit me smack
in the face. I really don't like this kind of thinking, Sofia. Some of
the most simple (apparently) questions turn out to give the most
productive threads. The nicest thing about this list is that it is
generally pretty free of superioir intellectual sneering. I am an
English undergraduate and, being no better than I should be, am
consistently awed by the level of thinking on this list, but try to
avoid feeling inferior. Your questions are not banal, don't feel you
have to excuse yourself for them.

Anyhoo, this Email has ended up sounding a bit like a battering. It was
meant to be warm and reasssuring (but not condescending, as those words
imply). I've had a hard couple of days, so please forgive me.
Basically what I'm saying is I, for one, am interested in what everyone
has to say.

Love,

Lucy-Ruth

(Lurking but planning a comeback when time permits!)
