Salinger's books have been translated into so many languages that it
seems to make perfect sense to this bananafish that we have readers
who are fluent beyond the stodgy confines of English. And as a
student of Salinger's style, I'd say that digression is part of his
art. And finally, as a reader of Tim's heartfelt email, I know this
list really works in all the right ways. The only assumption I'm
making is that I'm lucky to be here and thankful for all on this
list, will
PS: I smoke Gauloises because I wish I could speak French!
