Nope, no Kafka on this list, nor Heller. Here's a hint. Three of them are
not American and one of them is and two of them are nineteenth century and two
of them are twentieth.

Since I'm a bit tipsy and feel like it, here's the question, for those who
came late. I've already mentioned that I'm using Breakfast of Champions and The
Bell Jar in my "Art, Writing, Love and Obsession" course (or "Lit, Love, and
Madness" as I've come to call it). I asked for guesses as to what the other
four novels are. And I've offered a lovely evening of dinner and drinks
outside under the warm summer stars on the water in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida
for the winner.

BTW, if I see an even cooler suggested title, I might steal it and switch --
thus there is some method to this madness.
