hapworth is easily his most hilarious story too. that seymour and his poor child-size parts. you can almost see the mid-forties author come through the mid-forties buddy through the seven year old seymour. i always crack up when buddy rolls his eyes backward at mr. happy. no love lost between those two characters! i can see seymour's eyes welling up in love and admiration for his 5 year old campanion/brother. i can see seymour, as a 7 year old genius, easily being overwhelmed by his powers and responsibilities. i'm surprised he didn't kill himself sooner. it makes me think that his suicide was a mature decision, actually. or, maybe it was an immature decision...since he maybe never changed from that seymour at 7...he only stopped his silly grammar exercises, stopped showing off. stopped being himself. but inside he never grew from the 7 year old genius. his body just got bigger. i don't know what i'm talking about...just rambling. i'm starting "raise high" again today...i haven't read these sto
ries in about a year. i'll have to get out 'f&z' after this one too. 'f&z' transports me the way chuck sheets transports franny.
