There's a big difference between burning books as a public
political act (the nazis in 1930s Germany or the
fundamentalist Christians who did it here in the Twin Cities
a few years ago) or as a private act of disgust (I throw the
smarmy corporate McDonalds book that my in-laws gave my
4-year-old into the garbage that then ends up at the county
incinerator). Oh well, that's my eleven cents.
