Just a periodic reminder that we've been collecting the bananafish postings
in an archive, for new people who join the list and want to have a sense of
what discussions have transpired, or for old subscribers who want to relive
those memorable moments, or for prospective subscribers who wonder whether
they should take the leap and join. This archive covers all postings since
the list moved here to "lists.nyu.edu"; if possible, we'll get the old
archive from Stephen Foskett and splice it in as time permits.
The important part about this: If you post to the list and you have any
objection to having your posts in the archive, please contact me directly
to have them removed. I'm far from home at the moment, and have no simple
access to the archives (or any notes), but I believe you'll find them at:

Poke around that page to find the archive. I think we've even got the
search engine working properly now, thanks to one of our ace programming
staff who did battle with the search software, and emerged unscathed.
i've mentioned the fact of the archive in the welcome message, but will
periodically remind people in this fashion.
