To reply in my oh so friendly manner I would like to respond by saying
that in terms of shaping and standardizing the music into it's three chord
blare the Ramones were the first punk rock band. They are the root and they
had nothing to do with politics with the exception of yelling "I don't like
politics" in one of their songs. Just because some crappy second rate punk
band in the 80's took their anarco-pacifist ideas and melded it into the music
doesn't change what it was when it began. Punk rock.
