Uhh ... a bit a debate raged over this on bananafish not long ago, along
the lines of `Do we need criticisms or not?' I personally think it's good
at least to know what you're up against. For a good overview it's hard to
go past `Salinger: A Critical and Personal Portrait' (should be in any good
library).
