I just saw `Kundun' last night (it's only just come out here and is causing
somewhat of an arthouse storm). What did everyone else think of it? I
thought it was very beautiful to look at but a little surfacey
emotion-wise. Choosing Tibetian amateurs was definitely a good move. I
would have liked a little more `Zen' spirit to be injected into it - there
was things like the sequences where the sand paintings were swept away
which were nice, but things like the scenes with the predatory birds
smacked of a more Western kind of allegory. (Did anyone notice the music
was, coincidentally enought, by Philip *Glass* (: )
