When I read _On the Road_ I was compelled by wanderlust. I wanted to hop
on the next Freight Train and make my way west. Instead I hopped on a
Plane and went to Ireland for a month. Don't read _On the Road_ if you
don't want to have travel plans. I think no other book that I've read
captures the American nomatic impulse.
