I don't know about you, but I had a fabulous Latin teacher! (Heck, the guy
had us reading Catullus in Grade 11--which was pretty racey stuff at the
time.... at ANY time!)  He had me believing that there was no VEE in
Latin....  The V was either a U (when it was a vowel) or a W (when it was a
consonant).... Ergo, Weni, Widi, Wici.....

I totally empathize with Scottie's dilemma--especially since I plan to start
peppering my conversation with this 'conversation stopper' almost immediately.

(...and as an 'alienist', Scottie, I'm curious about your thoughts on
'meaning'....)
