Subject: The German Shepherd in the Rye...

I was surfing the net a few days ago for Salinger-related material, and I
came across a webpage (I lost the URL) that stated that Disney once wanted to
make a Disney adaptation of _The Catcher in the Rye_ with Holden in the form
of an adorable German Shepherd. The REALLY funny thing is that the voice of
Holden the Dog was to be spoken by Michael J. Fox. Have any of you other
crazy people ever heard of anything like this? And if so, what actions did
Ober or perhaps Salinger himself take to stop this horrible atrocity?
(Hmm...just think of the musical numbers). "You're a Goddam Phony" "She's
Queen of the Phonies" "Where Have All of the Ducks Gone?"
Bye the way, I've been attempting to begin a novel. It is concerned with a
fictional female heroine that I have created and thus been obsessed with. I
