I noticed you not saying anything about Dreyfuss confirming. Which is as it
should be, since Spacey is in the pink and our Richard is a tired old man.

So if you do spend the summer in Canada, tell Dreyfuss from me he has to
start getting his act together. I can't even remember why I have this soft
spot for the man anymore. But I do. I do.

TLM: Dick. Richard. Honestly. Mr Holland's Opus. Please. No more of that. No
I say. I'd rather you continued playing hotel residents in The Graduate than
that.

R D: I'm sorry, LM. One has to evolve. Maybe for you I can stay as the man
playing with his mashed potatoes, or the one trying so hard to get hold of
that Shark. But no, you can't trap me and Harrison in American Graffiti
forever.

TLM: Don't give me that, Dick. And don't bring Harrison Ford into this. Ford
was as bad as the original Han Solo until he could afford acting classes.
We're talking about you here. You were good, man, even in the lousiest of
movies. Even in Once Around one could love you. And that is saying a lot. So
don't misuse the word evolving. Mr. Holland's Opus. Only TV after that, and
you ask yourself why? Idiot.

R D: But Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead! That was something
important. And I was in it.

TLM: Don't make me laugh. That was little more than a cameo, buddy. Tim,
Gary and Stoppard did the work on that one. Besides, when was that? 1988?
1990? Ages ago, anyway.

[Silence. Deep thinking coming from R D, now finally evolving. TLM, like a
classical hero, does of course remain the same throughout our play.]

R D: Oh, great Socr-, I mean LM. Now I see what before was hidden to me. Now
I will definitely make an effort for all those people I've never met instead
of taking it easy my last years before pension. Definitely. Thank you for
making me realize what I lazy jerk I've become.

TLM: You're welcome. And while we're at it-

There we leave the two giants to continue talking about important political
issues (yes, that sentence sounds perfectly smooth in Swedish).
