I'd rather be red than maroon!

Cheers,

Paul

OSR--I'm sure somebody's already done this, and probably published the
results. But Cecilia's reference to the 1981 paperback (with the gloriously
textured, flat RED cover) got me to looking up my own vintage 14th
printing, August 1966 Bantam paperback edition, the one with the RED and
burnt-yellow, almost umber cover--and it shocked me to see that it cost all
of 75 cents. (I would have thought it more like 50 cents. But way back
then, I seem to remember that the Canadian dollar was worth a whole lot
more than the ol' Yankee greenback.... Ah, those were the days! But I
digress....)

Let's compile a list list of first personal editions of TCitR--date and
place of publication, colour (so that we can pin down the date of the
nefarious white-washing of a wonderfully well-read, not to mention RED
novel), and price (for all you future MBA's out there, who need to know
about flow charts and all that sort of stuff....)

I'll start, I feel like such a camp counsellor:

Paul August 1966, Toronto, RED, 75 cents (which is 5 cents for every
year of my life....)

Cheers,

Paul
