I love _A_Confederacy_of_Dunces_, but S:AI deserves to at least hold the
number five spot above. It may not be the crowning glory of Salinger's
career, nor is it necessarily ground shaking literature, but I thought
it was deliciously fun to read. I can't speak so kindly of Hapworth,
though.
Was he referring to criticisms of S:AI when Salinger said that some
people have too limited a view of the short story?
Gabe, I'd recommend reading the stories in the order they were
published. . . they make more sense to me that way.
