Oh for Pete's sake, get a grip, Kennedy.

    '... Lord Lucan...' (Irish)
'... the Duke of Argyle - Campbell...' (Scots)
'... Princess Margaret ...' (half Scots, half German)
'... Duke of Edinburgh...' (half Greek, half German)
'... HM The Queen Mother...' (Scots)

I can write with particular authority about the last.
Formerly the Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, her father,
the Earl of Strathmore, was the next door neighbour
of my own grandfather, Willie Mackenzie - sheep farmer
& reputedly possessor of the cruellest tongue in the County
    of Angus.

My mother (now dead but her exact contemporary)
regarded the Lady E. as a stuck-up little bitch & subjected
her to a lot of unkind mockery & ridicule - the like of which
you can probably imagine. 'She wasn't as nice as her father,'
reported my Mum - whose job it was to heat the brandy glasses
when the Earl came to call each month on his friend, Willie M.

(This little glimpse of a personal provenance will doubtless
illuminate hitherto baffling features of those ego-structures
about which you are currently inclined to speculate.)

    Scottie B.
