In a Salinger Seminar I taught several years ago, one of the best
papers I received was on Salinger's female characters and Victoria's
insight was shared by my excellent student. I share it too...as much
as I love old Phoebe, there's not enough of her...or as much as there
is of Corrine in "Inverted Forest," it's still about Ray Ford...yes,
I agree Victoria! Will
