Dear All,

Does anyone know anything about depictions of the Buddha as weeping? I
found somelittle figures of weeping Buddhas and wondered what tradition
they come from and what the precise significance of the Buddha's tears
are. If anyone can point me to a relevant piece of buddhist scripture,
I'd be very grateful (I want to give one as a gift to a Buddhist friend
of mine and i know she'dlike to have some relevant writings on it).

Also, Cecilia, can you post the exact url to your short story. When I
followed the link you posted I got to the potpourri home page, which
then totally stalled me by refusing to link me to any other page unless
I installed Flash, which I can't do (public access computers). I'd
really like to read it, though, and could probably circumvent this
problem with a more detailed url.

Thanks,

Lucy-Ruth
