No -- I'm glad you pointed this out, because I would have continued to
allow things to get in the way of pausing in my regular day and saying
publicly to Cecilia: Kudos and congratulations to a talented writer,
who got some very well-deserved recognition. I hope that this merely
(MERELY? as if this is only a MERE accomplishment?) means the beginning
of other recognition, and that you see plenty of it, because surely
you deserve it and you should get it.

I was fortunate enough to get not only an early preview of this, but
also a bit of explication from the author, who humored me in my
thick-headedness as I sloppily read it in a way neither the writer nor
the story deserved.

Good move, old chap, and many this Duck be one of many in a long row.
(Lord forgive us our bad puns.) I'm delighted for you and hope that
others here will take the time to investigate it and offer your
thoughts too. For those who didn't take notes last time, the locale
is:

I raise my teetotaler's glass to you in praise. I know that further work
will come forth -- that is how it is with a writer -- but I hope, as well,
that the recognition continues. That is NOT how it always is with a
writer, so I'm wishing the best for you.

Forgive the tardiness, please, and thanks to Scottie for pushing me to
get off my ass and speak up. Private thoughts just don't count in
this arena.

Best regards, Cecilia. Or, as you might say, "Tra la."
