John G. clears things up for us.

He originally wrote, concerning the academic members of this list:

"Seems they are lost in the world of interpretive decuntstructionism."

I asked:

"Is there any evidence that this is true concerning any specific readings
ever offered here of Salinger's work?"

He replied:

"No, thankfully. Most list-members seem to have have better judgement."

I asked:

"Have any of them ever even remotely resembled anything that could properly
be called 'deconstruction?'"

He replied:

"I don't know. You are asking the wrong person, seeing how my post (both of
them) expressed, at best an elementary grasp of 'deconstruction.'"

So, apparently, his original claim, that list members here are somehow "lost
in the world of interpretive decuntstructionism," was both made in ignorance
and proved to be simply false.

Thanks, John.

All the best,

--John
