John O. said to John G., with reference to what he (John O.) does with
Kafka:
<< [. . . ] otherwise you are doing no more than I am and offering
possibilities. >>

Since I can't make use of a tone in my voice, and I am aware that this could
be taken as snide, I want to ask you first to please take this as a wholly
sincere question.

Why do you call what you offered "possiblities" rather than, simply, correct
readings?

(I do plan to make a somewhat lengthier contribution, most specifically
speaking to some of Jim's comments, but there's not much chance of my doing
it before tomorrow night at the soonest.)
