...I don't recall the subject headers, and I'm certainly not interested in
it
enough to go looking myself :).

See, I don't care anymore. All talked out for the moment about that
subject. Maybe if John O. gets something going in the summer...

Jim

I read John O's and Jim's posts last night. I wrote replys that clarified a
couple of things that I said but just eneded up rehashing much of what has
already been said.

So, I thought about the whole issue for awhile. I broke out my dictionary
(same wave length with robbie) and read the definitions of meaning, intent,
signify, and reading. This resulted in a themebook filled with pages of
good old fashioned engineer problem solving. I defined all my terms
(given), I carefully crafted my questions (find), and I listed my
assumptions. I almost drew some freebody diagrams.

I then developed from my Given/Find/Assumptions five cases with four of them
applying exclusively to fiction which after much pondering editing and
rewriting seemed to cover all combinations of conclusions.

The engineer in me smiled, the poet in me vomitted and refused to speak. I
shoved my head over to my heart and demanded him to apologize and shake
hands. My head fumbled over the words and my heart quivered and rushed over
to give my head a bear hug. They passed the night laughing, talking,
singing, and dancing. I got no sleep despite my repeated raps on the walls
for them to keep the noise down.

This morning I ran across my themebook with the response and analysis and i
quickly picked it up to rip it all apart but I couldn't, my head had that
pathetic puppy dog look. So I folded up the pages and tucked them in the
back of my Poem journal, and my heart smiled.

There they are like that pathetic 60's hippy image of the flower poking out
of the barrel of the rifle.
