Now, I understand my last post won't make much sense in many aspects. With
everyone hot and fury about this whole generation ideal, is that, no matter
who you are, and no matter how old you are, there is always going to be
disagreements.

I do happen to think that this does pretain to JDS and especially Holden,
because it is, in essence, what Holden's ideals were. That the generation
is falling apart, that ppl are in short, phony, and that we will (we=
population as a whole) follow whatever is 'trendy' and easier to deal with.

And wasn't this, alone, this ideal what Holden was speaking of in CITR?

I believe it is.

And that alone is the reason why so many people perhaps idealize it,
because they can see the 'truth' if you will, that Salinger so poignently
spoke of in CITR.
