I would have to say that for historical reasons the end of Chapter 16 is my
favourite bit (and all of Chapter 16, esp the part about the gasoline
rainbows) because at the time when I read it I was sixteen and feeling
exactly the same way, so there was this sort of numerological significance
too. But to me, it sort of distills the whole meaning of `Catcher'.

By the way my boyfriend is standing behind me saying `What's the big deal
about `The Catcher in the Rye ? Nothing happens in it ! It's like Seinfeld
in book form!'

What do you make of this ?!
