Hunting hats, maybe

I was in the laundry room of my building the other day when I spied a tag that
someone had pulled off some new item of clothing. That item, whatever it was,
had been made by "Red Kap Industries" and had a picture of a suspiciously
hunting-hat-looking red cap. So I ask myself, am I seeing JDS influence even
in places where it doesn't exist, or ...?

I did want to put in my couple of cents worth on Holden's hunting hat. Being
avidly anti-hunting myself has probably colored my views about this, but I
always thought that the fact that he wore it backwards so much sort of negated
its original purpose, i.e. as a hunting hat. Meaning, perhaps, that Holden was
hunting for something he couldn't find, or was the hunted instead of the
hunter, or that he was hunting for something -- meaning in life or whatever --
but not in the conventional sense. Or that he just found a hat he liked and
enjoyed wearing it backwards.
