I've been having major e-mail stuff ups so I think one of my mailings didn't get thru (if they get back to me via the list I usually take that as meaning they got there) So I'm sending another one (apologies if you already have it) I think it was Tim O'Connor who asked if there was any writers on this list. (e-mail problems erased my inbox too) I responded : Yes, I'm a writer ! I've been semi-professional since age 18 (I'm now twenty). I originally wrote prose (I wrote my second novel when I was 16 - shortly after reading this miraculous tome called `The Catcher in the Rye'!) but I've lately had a lot of success in the field of theatre (wouldn't it be interesting to explore JDS's connection to the theatre - the Glass family's vaudeville for example, and the story I once heard that JDS wanted to do a stage play of TCIR with himself as Holden!), especially radio drama, of which I've had a few plays broadcast by the ABC (the national broadcaster here in Australia) I also taught playwriting to high school kids for about 2 years, and I read them TCIR as an example of how to express yourself in a lifelike way, and to express the things that seem important to you, no matter how trivial they may seem. I'd love to get in touch with any other writers on Bananafish - we should do something fun, like compose a story by e-mail (I'm writing a play with some friends over the net at the moment and it's proving to be very interesting!) If anyone's interested, please respond. Camille Scaysbrook verona_beach@geocities.com P.S. If anyone wants to read some of my stuff it's at : http:\\www.geocities.com\Hollywood\Theater\6442
