The best way to get her reading again is to have her drop out of school.  
I used to consume books like a madman, and then I hit high school and 
for any number of reasons, my deluge of reading material slowed to a 
trickle.  Only recently have I reacquired my voracious appetite, as a 
3rd year college student.
