Well, I'm going to throw in my own two cents worth here and say that:
1. How can someone's mother be one of the guys? (Mothers are pretty
unique really).
2. I think it's OK to be ugly, disgusting or fat. Anorexia starts on
feelings expressed less forcefully than that from people far less
significant than one's mother.
Sorry if I sound too rough on you Beverly but after a struggle with
anorexia when I was sixteen, my antennae is extremely sensitive to the
messages we parents give out, particularly to daughters and other women.
Please read Malcolm's loving ode to other people. As usual, he never
fails to surprise.
