I'm personally DELIGHTED that Will is resurrecting the discussion with which
I lost my virginity on the list (IF it's possible to do so without any form
of human contact--since NO ONE touched my baseball post.... Sigh....) And
I'm EVEN MORE delighted that he didn't dare to mention the Mets. (I guess
they give people Ph. Ds for good reasons....)
But PUH-LEEZE Will, there is absolutely NO POSSIBILITY that God (or even any
of her angels!) ever cheered for the Damn Yankees!
As I said in my earlier post, I'd like to think of JDS as a Dodger fan
(Jackie Robinson, and all that!) but I fear he'd probably be driven by class
and circumstance to cheer for the Giants. Zooey, I'm sure though, would
have made his way to Ebbet's Field on opening day, more often than not.
(de Daumier-Smith, of course, would be cheering for the Expos--en francais,
s'il vous plait!)
