After quoting a perfectly poetic passage in JJ (proof positive that the man
was actually <Canadian>--since only the Swedes, the Norwegians and the
Russians could ever understand such snowy references.... And NONE of them
write in English.....) you asked:

>
>Have I said this here before, in another year, in another snow? Forgive if
>I have....

Who cares? And PLEASE don't ask forgiveness!!! I think I'm beginning to
understand what Nietzsche was talking about when he tried to describe
"eternal recurrence".....

Warm (snowy) regards,

Paul

OSO-- It's Sally who suggests skating after seeing the Lunts.... It's
Phoebe who apparently often skates in Central Park.... Both of Holden's
closest female contacts display an innate (almost UN-American) understanding
of the warm and welcoming (ie "female") attributes of winter....
