I don't think "anything" is valid, but I do think a presentation of the
"real" anything consists of multiple points of view.  In our discussion,
you have to be both inside and outside the goldfish bowl.  

The stuff about hearing your voice recorded is pretty good :)  I'd hate
to hear mine, I know what I sound like.  But I think, in the end, a
person's feelings on the matter are partly a matter of the objective
tonal qualities of their voice and partly a matter of the size of their
ego :)  Not necessarily objectively true in this case as well :)
