Warning: this comment I'm going to make is completely off topic and
has nothing, or at least very little indeed, to do with "Bananafish"

It's just that I got stuck on this piece of personal info you gave us,
Scottie, and you being a shrink fascinated with Salinger got me
interested. It got me thinking about "Zooey", in which the criticism
to that profession is harsh. (Among other things, "Just think of what
analysis did to Seymour".)

However, I draw the conclusion from Zooey´s speech about it having to
be a very peculiar analyst who could help Franny that what Salinger is
saying isn't necessarily that analysis is bad, but that like people
are different, different solutions to their problem require different
types os analysts.

I just sort of wondered if their is a previous discussion about this I
could look at, if anyone knows. If, as I fear it might be, my comment
is too banal, I humbly ask you all to disregard it as quietly as
possible.

Thank you,
Sofia
