I would say you create your experience with literature and that you
are right to examine your role, Micaela. I don't think there's a
formula for literature to work. More likely is that literary
experience is an individual choice. Maybe those who take it seriously
often find similar paths--not always (hopefully;)--but one thing is
certain--reading widely and largely is good. Devour books as long as
you can stay hungry, and yes, read beyond all authors! will
