Re: pretty obnoxious.

I'm getting really tired of the self-indulgent mental masturbation/political
talk here. I joined this to speak with other intellectuals about quality
literature, not playing footsie pretending we have the answers to world
peace. Do any of you people have a life beyond online kvetching? There
are other countries that have valued opinions besides the red/white/ & blue,
and American arrogance reminds me of a couple of bobbies I overheard in a
diner solving world problems over "liberty toast". Truly, you people are the
intellectual version of what's making me physically ill about this country.
If you must mentally wank each other, do it privately; it's my understanding
that this is a place for literature. Now, can we please get on to a little
JDS or at least the new collection of old Vonnegut stories?

And while I'm bitching, is there anything more frustrating in the cinema
than the silly clothes-changing montage that tells audiences that the
director had no more imagination to fill up 5 minutes of space. They should
be shot.
