There was a quiz show in the 40's, the name of which completely eludes me,
that utilized "child prodigies"; it was a rather loose-form show that
basically let child geniuses show off. I remember hearing of a kid on the
show who could calculate any sum in his head instantly.
Anyway, I always imagined "It's a Wise Child" to be based on this show.
