While preparing a salad the other night my girlfriend paused and
thoughtfully examined a carrot she was about to skin. "You know," she said
to me, "I always buy the carrots I think no one else will buy."
"So, enlighten the studio audience please, Franny. Tell us...which are the
best carrots?"
The two are completely unalike, but every once and a while....Anyway, I
wished I had said it. Truth is, I stole it and am using it in a story. It
hit home.
