Isn't it the guy, the brother, in the story who's talking about war and
working in airplane factories and having something wrong with his heart,
and he says that they're going to have a war in which only guys over 65
can fight, and then he says the're gonna have a war with the eskimos.
(Sorry about the dodgy specifics, my copy of Nine Stories is STILL awol.
I am concerned for its safety. I hope it turns up soon, or at least that
whoever has it read and enjoyed...)

Yes. Don't know why I think so, but yes. I, personally, think Muriel is
one of my favourite characters.

That's the part I read too, and I was just waiting until it would come
in useful, and you beat me to it...

I was thinking about the Catcher-As-Screening-Process thing, and I
remembered that my best friend thought F&Z was crap, and I still love
her.

Also, a funny thought occurred to me, what would the Glass family think
of the internet? Buddy is all stuck up in the forest (or wherever)
without even a phone, but he writes epic letters, would he be email
friendly?? (I know it's dumb, but it made me wonder.)
