Subject: auction of Salinger letters

As someone noted in a previous posting, there will be an auction of two
J.D. Salinger letters on June 3, 1997, at the Swann Galleries, in New York
City. Presale estimates for each letter range from $3,000 to $6,000.
Although this is a little out of my price range, I plan to attend a
pre-auction inspection of these and other literary papers. I'll summarize
what I find.
