there's something about taking a cross country trip from chicago to seattle
and back again via our belovedly neglected rail system and snuggling up to
nine stories one hundred and fifty or so readings... and every time the
fortune presents itself for lionel to recall sandra's remark concerning his
father the 'kite', or capturing a glimpse of teddy popping that little head
of his out of the ocean liner port hole to catch some of the ocean breeze in
his hair, or the smell of that calf skin luggage & nail polish remover down
in florida, or that chair so oddly placed in demure smith's flat, or those
new tennis balls, those crazy bus rides, seeing that beautiful little esme
who belongs in _Lolita_, or watching that ashtray fill with lies..
someone push me over the edge please.. i saw genius over the weekend. again.
again. again. again..
