Thought I'd briefly mention that JDS gets the cover story in the new
June issue of Esquire. Entitled "The Haunted Life of J. D. Salinger",
journalist Ron Rosenbaum has written an interesting variation on the
"pilgrimage to Cornish" theme. Integrating his re-telling of parts of
the JDS story, contemporary JDS anecdotes and a discourse on the nature
of literary recluses with his journey to Cornish, Rosenbaum writes a
contemporary and sometimes interesting variation on an old theme.
Evidently prompted by the "publication" of Hapworth.
Very little "new" but still worth reading, though - IMHO.
